SPINNING A WEB OF FUN!

We had so much fun doing a bug search with yarn last week. Bowden and Sami, you both stood out because of your upbeat attitude and playful personality. You guys worked as a team to identify which bug, I was hinting at from the clues I gave you guys. Bowden, you did an amazing job at guessing each bug. I noticed how fast you yelled ANT when I said, “Find a bug that is very small and usually red or black, hint you can find them at a picnic trying to steal food crumbs”. Sami, you always know how to keep the fun going and you made my activity way more fun when you got the group to pretend that the string was a huge laser. The only way through the maze was to crawl underneath and ninja our way out.

Bowden, you demonstrated your participating disposition when you actively listened to others and shared your ideas with your peers (1). Even when you knew what bug you were looking for, you let others try to guess and find the bug on the string. Sami, I would say that you demonstrated you’re playing and playful disposition as you were not only playful with your thoughts but your actions (1). I will never forget the way you slithered on the floor trying to identify bugs and escape the harsh lasers quickly. You provoked others to be just as imaginative as you! Everyone did amazing learning about bugs and getting through the string maze.

Bowden and Sami met the play goal of Well Being: Physical Health as they increased body awareness and control moving through the maze (1). I noticed that they also loved the bug component of my activity. An activity like Bug Bingo would be so fun to continue learning about the natural world.
